{Week 3: Size/Sorting}
Activity: Colorful Eggs

Daily Opener:
1. Prayer {Say a prayer with your child}
2. Calendar {Click on the link to learn how to use the calendar}.
3. ABC / 123 Song {Sing the ABC’s with your child & sing numbers 1-10 with your child}.
Description: Your child will practice sizing and sorting various eggs to their unique characteristics.
Materials:
- Construction Paper
- Computer paper
- Scissors
- Sharpie
Directions:
1. Using the construction paper, choose 4-5 different colors of paper.
2. Cut out egg shape ovals some small and some big {4 eggs per color}.
3. Cut out 4-6 word strips using your computer paper. Write the names of the colors being used and write words Big and Small on two of them.
4. Choose two word strips, lay them on the table with all the colored eggs in front of your child. Have your child sort the eggs to the correct colors being shown {If Red and Yellow were on your srtips, you child would sort out all the red and yellow eggs, placing them next to their strips.
5. Repeat Step 4, with new colored word strips. Lastly, show the Big and Small word strips, have your child size the big eggs from the small eggs.
Learning Opportunity:
1. Your child will learn the difference between sizing and sorting.
2. Your child will learn practice identifying various colors.
3. Your child will gain confidence while practicing the lesson individually.

*Stallone Tested and Approved: Stallone loves that we are not done celebrating Easter! He enjoyed sorting the eggs, while Mommy read to him the colors. Plastic eggs can be used in this lesson as well! Hope your child enjoys sorting and sizing!
