3. ABC / 123 Song
{Sing the ABC’s with your child & sing numbers 1-10 with your child}.
Description: Your
child will practice sorting Fall leaves by putting them in the matching colored
baskets.
Materials:
- Orange, Yellow, Green, & Brown Construction Paper & Crayons
- White Paper
- Black Marker
- Pen
- Scissors
Directions:
1. Fold white paper into four even squares, draw
a basket-like picture, and cut out {See image below}.
2. Place all colored construction paper on top of
each other, draw a few leaves, and cut out leaves {See image below}.
3. With child color baskets, you should have: one
orange, one yellow, one green, and one brown colored basket.
4. Sorting.
Place all four baskets and leaves in front of child, have him/her sort the
leaves by putting each colored leaf in the matching colored basket.
5. When finished, review the word SORT with your
child and praise them for a job well done. Sorting is very common in elementary
math classes. Happy sorting!!
