Activity: Green Cookies

Daily Opener:
1. Prayer {Say a prayer with your child}

3. ABC / 123 Song {Sing the ABC’s with your child & sing numbers 1-10 with your child}.
Description: Your child will learn one of your favorite cookie recipes while turning the delicious cookie St. Patrick’s Day GREEN!
Materials:
· Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
· Green Food Coloring
· Green construction paper
· Sharpe/Pen
{Use your favorite cookie recipe, we made Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies from Betty Crocker}
1. Fold the green construction paper in half, then write the word COOKIE across the paper, folded side on the top.
2. Trace with your child's index finger the word COOKIE, and have them repeat each letter being traced. Use the word in a sentence, try having your child use the word in a sentence.
3. Begin preparing the cookies. Follow the recipe together, allowing your child to help you as much as possible, be sure to name each ingredient.
4. Once cookie mix is finished, add a couple of drops of green food coloring.
5. Mix together, and begin baking.
6. Enjoy the your delicious green cookies with your sweet kiddies and family!
Learning Opportunity:
1. Your child will learn how to spell and use the word cookie in a sentence.
2. Your child will learn the ingredients into making their favorite cookie.
3. Your child will gain confidence baking and enjoying their finished baked good!
