Daily Opener:
- Prayer {Say a prayer with your child}
- Calendar {Click on the link to learn how to use the calendar}.
- ABC / 123 Song {Sing the ABC’s with your child & sing numbers 1-10 with your child}.
Description: Your child will learn how to make a shamrock with his/her hands.
Materials:
· Green paint
· White construction paper
· Paper plate
· Paint brush
· Pen
Directions:
- Write the word “Shamrock” on the white construction paper.
- Introduce St. Patrick’s Day to your child and discuss the importance of a shamrock.
- Place the paper plates on the table. Add the green paint.
- Draw a stem for the base of the shamrock
- Have your child place his/her hand in the green paint.
- Press hand {facing inward} above the stem, to create a shamrock leaf.
- Repeat this three times until you have four shamrock leaves.
- When you are finished, have your child place his finished art piece on the wall!
Learning Opportunity :
- Your child will learn how to identify, spell, and pronounce the word Shamrock.
- Your child will learn how to make a shamrock & practice their painting skills.
- Your child will gain confidence by learning new words and creating a beautiful piece of art.
