{Week 1: Rhyming}
Theme: Valentines Day Color: Pink

Daily Opener:
1. Prayer {Say a prayer with your child}
3. ABC / 123 Song {Sing the ABC’s with your child & sing numbers 1-10 with your child}.
Activity: Rhyming with Pink {Lesson by Briana}
Description: Your child will learn words that rhyme with the word “Pink.”
Materials:
- Pink construction paper
- Purple, red, and white construction paper
- Tape or glue
- Sharpe or pen
Directions:
- Cut a big heart out of the pink construction paper.
- Write the word “Pink” in the center of the heart.
- Cut five small hearts from the purple, red, and white construction paper to tape on the large red heart.
- Write a word that rhymes with “Pink” on each of the five smaller hearts.
- Examples:
- Blink {on a purple heart}
- Sink {on a white heart}
- Think {on a red heart}
- Wink {on a purple heart}
- Drink {on a white heart}
- Read over each rhyming word with your child.
- Have your child trace all of the letters that make each word.
- Make a sentence with each word to tell your child.
- Have your child tape the smaller hearts on the big “Pink” heart.
- Have your child say each word again and see how they rhyme with the word “Pink.”
- Have them place their heart on the wall to show everyone their finished project!
Learning Opportunity :
- Your child will learn how to say and spell the word Pink.
- Your child will learn five words that rhyme with the word Pink.
- Your child will practice tracing their letters and spelling words.
- Your child will gain confidence by learning new words to say.
Read Aloud:
Pink Heart {By Briana}
I have a purple heart, white heart, and blue heart too,
I have an orange heart, and a yellow heart that is brand new,
I have a red heart, and pink heart just for you!
