Directions:
1.              With your child’s help, using 10 index cards, write a different number, from 1-10, on each.

3.             Set a small bowl of jelly beans on the table, have your child close their eyes and pick a card from the bag and read the number shown.
4.            Your child should then pick out the correct amount of jelly beans from the bowl to match the number shown {If your child picks a four, he will then choose four jelly beans}.

6.            Let your child enjoy a jelly bean or two for a job well done {If your little one would be too tempted to eat the candy instead of learning, try using the other materials listed instead}.

The Jelly Bean Prayer

Red is for the blood He gave.
Green is for the grass He made.
Yellow is for the sun so bright.
Orange is for the edge of night.
Black is for the sins we made.
White is for the grace He gave.
Purple is for His hour of sorrow.
Pink is for a new tomorrow.
And handful of jelly beans,
Colorful and sweet,
Is a prayer, a promise,
A loved one’s treat!
Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Materials Needed

Folded Index cards with Numbers inside

Stallone LOVED the jelly beans..a little too much!

Switched from jelly beans to play coins..much better!

Searching for another card

In the end, the coins won over the jelly beans..though it was still a nice treat after the lesson was over!
Daily Craft: Activity Jar {Click on the link to learn about using the activity jar}

*Stallone Tested and Approved:  Stallone LOVED the jelly beans just a little too much! I thought he could control himself, but he was asking if he "could have one" in the middle of our lesson. So, I found a bag of play coins in his activity tot and quickly switched to those. In the end, he was able to focus without the candy temptation! When he was finished, Mommy gave him a few jelly beans for doing such a great job!
