{B Joyful}

This month is a special month for me.  My dog Buster – also known as “my fur baby” is turning the big 2!  Buster brings me so much joy and I so love raising him.  I adopted him when he was three months old, and it has been so wonderful watching him grow from a puppy to an adult dog.  Buster has brought out my maternal instincts, and he is preparing me for having my own children one day.  I have swapped stories with all of my Mom friends, and I have been experiencing similar mother emotions while raising Buster, such as leaving him for the first time when I went to work, or calling my mom to ask her what I should do on the first night I got him, as I heard him wine and cry in his area.  Raising Buster has given me a glimpse into my mommyhood future one day.  Oh Buster, how much you have taught me, how much I enjoy you!  My favorite thing about Buster is that no matter how short or long I am away, he greets me with pure love and excitement every time, as if I am his WHOLE world.  Happy Birthday Buster!  I am so happy you are my dog!  Thanks for bringing me so much joy!

{B Summery}

Summer is in full swing, and so is my wardrobe.  What am I wearing this summer?  Well, for starters I am a huge dress fan.  So, at the top of my list are light and breezy dresses that can take me from a daytime look to night-time elegance.   I am really loving my maxi dress which can be so versatile.  Another summer essential is my long sleeve cardigan that is just perfect for chilly nights.  To top off my looks, I like to add one bold accessory - a hat or a chunky necklace  are my favorites.   These are just a few of my summer looks pictured below.  Happy summer everyone!

{B in a Sun Hat}

Oh the beautiful sunny days of May.  I have been enjoying the sun lately, but with the sun comes the good old eye squints.  Eye squints {equals} crows feet and well…I sure do not want any crows feet this summer.  So, with this factor in mind, I have recently been trying to take better care of my skin.  The solution - I invested in a sun hat.   I am loving my new Columbia sun hat and I realized that it is a must-have item for summer.  Not only does it help me get rid of the eye squints, it makes me feel very chic as well.  I'm not sure if I have a case of the Kate Middleton's but I am starting to become a hat person.  I have not been one before, but I have to say I am now a big fan.  My sun hat covers my face well and gives my outfits a classic update.    If you are trying to decide which accessory to add to your summer wardrobe, I suggest getting a new sun hat!  It will be perfect for those long days spent by the pool or water park.

{B Dancing in the Rain}

Oh the month of April.  It is filled with rainy days, chilly afternoons, and a few rays of sun.  April reminds me of rain boots.  I absolutely love that rain boots are oh-so-chic right now, you can find them at any department store.  I also love that putting on a pair of rain boots allows me to be care-free in the rain.  I can be walking or dancing around town without worrying about getting my shoes dirty.  Ok, so maybe I don't dance around town, but, speaking of dancing…I often love stumbling upon inspirational quotes like this one, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain” –unknown.  I love this quote so much, because it makes me realize that there will be times when I'll go through some stormy days, and it truly is about how I handle those days that makes all the difference.  It reminds me that sitting around worrying for the storm to be over will not do me any good.  Instead, it is far better to go out and enjoy that stormy day the best I can, because every day is truly a gift from God.  So on those stormy days, I do need to remember to put on my rain boots and go out and dance in the rain.  {Not only will it burn off a few calories, it will put a big smile on my heart}  I hope those of you who are reading can find yourselves a pair of cute rain boots for those April showers!  Have a wonderful month and don’t forget to dance in the rain!

{B into Spring}

Spring is in the air.  I love the abundance of fresh flowers popping up in all places, as it brings a sense of beauty and fresh-starts all around.  I especially love the variety of colors that fill the  richly green landscapes.  I feel the need to celebrate these flowers, by sprinkling my wardrobe with pretty pastels, flower headbands, and blossom print dresses & blouses.  As I've been shopping, I notice these flower prints and accessories are all around.  I am in love with my new coral necklace I just purchased in Pasadena with my friend over the weekend, and my flower-printed beige dress.  These two pieces will complement each other wonderfully.  I hope you all enjoy the spring weather and find yourselves some cute floral prints to complement your wardrobe.  Happy Spring my Friends!

{B Sweet}

February brings out my sweet tooth.  I try to hide it away all year, but February, oh February!  It is the month filled with hearts, hugs, and sweet treats - so why not dig in!  I wanted to make a classic - Rice Krispie Treats...mmmm!  Growing up my mom always made these treats & they were and still are my favorite.  I loved my mom's version.  Instead of making them with marshmallows, she uses Jet Puffed.  I think this ingredient makes them turn out more gooey and scrumptious!  You can find the classic recipe here.  To doll them up, I drizzled some pink chocolate candy coating on top.  I also added some pink tissue paper & a slender hot pink ribbon...totally Valentine's worthy in my book.  Enjoy these treats & I hope you have a very sweet & lovely February!

{B Football-Ready}

Hi friends.  Super Bowl is just around the corner....so I made my homemade cupcakes and wanted to add a football for the toppers.  My first attempt was fondant footballs...however, they were not turning out the way I liked.  So, I looked in my pantry & found this delicious chocolate I got from Whole Foods.  I crossed my fingers, turned them over and piped on some leftover frosting to make a football & they were easy to make.  A few people often ask me how I get my cupcake frosting to look so fancy.  I use a ziplock bag & a cake decorating round tip...BUT you can simply cut a hole diagonally at the end of a ziplock bag, fill with frosting, and swirl away}. I hope this will inspire you to add some football flare to your Super Bowl party!

Hi friends! Can you believe it is already the middle of January-this month is speeding by.  The weather has been so nice lately... it feels like spring in my town.  This lovely weather has made me tuck away my warm wool coats and shop for some lighter jackets.  Result...I have a crush on blazers!  Blazers are everywhere right now.  Lots of stores {like H&M, Urban Outfitters, & Jcrew} have their version of this classic jacket.  I chose this classic black blazer to build my wardrobe.  BUT...I have two on my wish list:  This striped blazer from Ann Taylor LOFT & this green blazer from Forever 21!  I like wearing my blazer with jeans and a dressy top, a textured skirt & shirt, or a dress.  If you want a good transition coat, the blazer is a great fashion find!  Happy Shopping!

{B Refreshed}

H.E.L.L.O. 2012!!! My have I been WAITING for you!  Thank goodness you are here!

Since it is a New Year, here are my five New Years Resolutions…Yes, I have five.  I wanted to make my resolutions balanced this year for the mind, body, and soul!

  1. {B Healthy} This year I want to make better food choices by pairing my foods correctly. The fabulous book: The Beauty Detox Solution, by Kimberly Snyder, taught me the order foods need to be eaten in. I want to do this for every meal in 2012! {Side-note…Kimberly Snyder is fab, she will change the way you look at food}.
  2. {B Active} I am SO not a fan of the gym, so I want to take more walks with my dog this year.
  3. {B Reflective} I love this one. I was thinking about how I want to constantly reflect on becoming a better person.   I want to challenge myself daily by asking myself: What went great/not-so-great? What could I change for tomorrow? How can I be a better me?
  4. {B Grateful} This year, I want to remind myself to say what I am grateful for, even when I have had a bummer day. I will be starting my thoughts with the {positives} Lovesies this one!
  5. {B Forgiving} This is something I can use a lot of practice with...lol  In the past, I tended to hold grudges and I find that it’s such a waste of time & energy.  So, I want to practice forgiving the way God forgives us.  I want to do what the Our Father Prayer says to do: So powerful!  This resolution is really important to me, and I want to practice it everyday!
And those are my five New Years Resolutions!
Happy New Year my friends! I hope you all have a Wonderful New Year filled with health, happiness, and success!

{B Fallbulous}

Fall is here my friends! It is time for chilly mornings, frosted windows, hot chocolate, pumpkin everything…yum, AND drumroll please…the fall wardrobe!  Fall is the best time for fashion, as you can layer, add pops of color, and mix-it-up! For me, the two most important & useful accessories you can't leave behind for your fall wardrobe are: Boots & Scarves!  Boots are uh-maze-ing! They add a chic, elegant, and sassy style to any outfit...AND they go with anything! For this season I suggest a flat, leather brown boot.  Scarves are my other love.  They give you warmth and make you look oh-so-cute in the latest patterns and shades.  Be creative with how you wrap your scarves.  Check out this Scarves website to see lots of ways to wear your scarves.  This fall, I am crushing on the marigold color...its so lovely.
