Materials:

Mini Bagel
Cream Cheese
1 baby carrot
Sliced black olive
Sliced red pepper
celery
broccoli

Directions:

1.  Spread half a mini bagel with cream cheese, then add a baby carrot nose, sliced black olive eyes, and a sliced red pepper mouth.

2. For the earmuffs, simply curve a thinly sliced piece of celery along the top of the bagel as shown and hold it in place with a broccoli floret at each end.

3. Enjoy the festive healthy snack!

Learning Opportunity:

1.  Talk about each ingredient used, explaining where the food comes from.

2. Go over the colors/numbers of each ingredient. (Example: There are two green broccolis.)

3. Sing “Frosty the Snowman” as your little one enjoys their snack.

Read Aloud:

I'm a Little Snowman
~Anon
(to the tune of I’m a little tea pot)

I'm a little snowman round and fat,

Here are my mittens,

Here is my hat.

Add a little scarf and a carrot nose,

I stand so tall when the cold wind blows.

*Stallone Tested and Approved: {We are so lucky to have Stallone, Annie’s son, test out all of our lessons that we create for you.  We want the lessons to be enjoyable for children, so after each lesson we will post how Stallone did with the lesson in italics under the title, Stallone Tested and Approved}

Stallone had a great time making his Frosty the Bagel.  It was a delicious breakfast treat for him, and he kept saying "yummy!"  This is a fun and festive must-try treat for kids!
